The national Society of Women Engineers organization is hosting five regional conferences in spring 2019 for female engineering students to connect with regional professionals through professional workshops, inspirational speakers, and networking opportunities. Fortunately, SWE is hosting one of the local conferences in St. Louis from March 1-2. We want to send a minimum of 20 girls from SLU to the conference to explore the exciting future that is women. However, the cost to register 20 girls to attend the conference exceeds the funds available from our Student Government Association funding for the 2018-2019 academic year. Early registration fees are $96 per person. Please consider investing in the future of our female engineers here at SLU to attend this conference. It will be an incredible, unique opportunity for us, as female engineers, to meet other inspiring professionals and students across the region, as well as to gain knowledge and passion for future careers and opportunities.
The mission of SLU is the pursuit of truth, for the greater glory of God, and the service of humanity. By sending girls to this conference, we will be able to pursue truth and knowledge in regards to women in the engineering field. We hope to be inspired by the various talks and panels to take this knowledge into the SLU community to better serve God and one another.
