Help us feed hungry families around the St. Louis area! SLU's Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is partnering with SLU's Health Resource Center and the St. Louis Metro Market to nourish hungry families served at the clinic. Patients of the HRC that are found to be food insecure have difficulty obtaining food that will benefit their health. Many of these individuals are parents or caregivers who struggle to put healthy food out on the table for themselves and their loved ones. You can help make a difference within the community by donating today. Money donated will fund grocery bags of produce provided by the St. Louis Metro Market as well as nutrition education by Registered Dietitians. Through these efforts, we are looking to alleviate the financial burden of grocery shopping and give nourishment to the individuals and their families. The bags of groceries will not only nourish the patients, but are useful as applicable sources of education. This project is in line with the SLU Jesuit mission - to be "men and women for and with others" - and empowers others to help themselves.
Our goal of $5400 will allow us to provide all of the patients of the HRC with 1 bag of produce each month for an entire year.
